With a master’s degree in social work from Washington University in St. Louis, MO, Shelly Mikuls serves as President for HospiceChoice Rx. Shelly has worked in and around the hospice industry since 2004, beginning her career as a hospice social worker. Over the years, while focusing on mentoring and process improvement, she transitioned into various leadership roles including guiding a start-up hospice through certification and accreditation as Executive Director.
After 14 years in clinical settings, Shelly joined a hospice PBM as Manager of Support Services where she directed account management and customer service teams. Over the past 20+ years she has managed numerous regulatory changes and understands first-hand the importance of effective change management. Shelly has led teams through acquisitions and facilitated transitions between EMR vendors.
Shelly’s social work background, with its focus on systems and their strengths, has provided her with the skills and perspective necessary to navigate the ever-changing hospice landscape. As President of HospiceChoice Rx, Shelly continues to work with hospice organizations to identify efficiencies and cost savings related to drug utilization and prescribing practices.
